A peek at the plates!

So I received the signature plates AND photos of the books in production so that is NICE!
I will be signing 235+ of these…
They couldn't emboss the figure because it was too complex, which is a disappointment. I wish they'd told me earlier so as to design something else.
I'm asking to reprint with something better but at the same I'd rather not delay anything further... I did pay for emboss so I hope I can get a refund for that and design it better ahead for the next time. I'll let you know what happens. They still look nice though. It's nicely printed.

J’ai reçu les autocollants de signature. Qu’est-ce que ça fait plaisir!! Me voilà pour signer 235 de ceux-ci, cependant... Ils n'ont pas pu imprimer avec un relief (ce que je voulais pour la figure de Graïnne dessus). C'était trop complexe et c'est dommage. J'aurais voulu qu'ils m'en informent plus tôt pour pouvoir changer de design mais bon. Du coup je vois avec eux maintenant si on peut changer mais sinon, je préfère ne pas retarder le projet plus que ça. Je saurai quoi faire avec le design des signatures la prochaine fois!

Movement From The Kraken

As I mentioned in the previous update, KrakenPrint, the company I work with to print and send my books to you all, has been dealing with internal reorganization issues which caused the major delay that we know of.
Here is a somewhat encouraging word that I received from them today:
“Thanks for your patience! As you may be aware, Kraken is going through a reorganization and I will be your new contact regarding the printing status, etc. [The person I was speaking to before] is moving into his new role as the Art and Pre-press Director and while he is doing that I am trying to get up to speed on your books! I apologize for the crazy delays for Angels Power but the books are currently moving through production.
[... Here some details about issues they’ve had with my signature plates although it’s finally arriving.]
Again, thank you for your patience. We understand that this is not an ideal situation. Please bear with us as we work through these setbacks and know that we will deliver the high quality books that you expect. “
They are mailing me the signature plates : the stickers that I sign for them to place inside the Limited Edition books! It arrives tomorrow so I look forward to open that and give you a look.
I’m also poking and poking to receive my fulfillment estimate. This is still infuriatingly slow and I apologize for that even though it’s nothing that I’ve caused but... It’s moving.

Le Kraken a bougé.
Comme je l’ai mentionné précédemment, la compagnie d’impression avec qui je travaille pour produire et livrer les bouquins souffre de problèmes de réorganisations internes qui sont à la cause du retard majeur que nous connaissons.
Voilà un mot que j’ai reçu aujourd’hui (traduit):
“Merci de votre patience! Comme vous le savez, Kraken passe par une réorganisation et je serai votre nouveau contact pour tout ce qui concerne le statut d’impression, etc. [La personne à qui je parlais avant] travaille désormais à la fonction de directeur artistique et Pré-presse et, tandis qu’il se charge de ça, je tâche de me mettre à jour sur vos livres!
Mes excuses pour ce retard monstrueux sur Angels Power mais la production des livres progresse.
[... Ici détails sur des soucis qu’ils ont eu avec mes autocollants de signature, qui vont me parvenir malgré tout.]
Encore merci pour votre patience. Nous comprenons que la situation est loin d’être idéale. Merci de garder patience pendant que nous travaillons sur ces revers. Sachez que vous recevrez les livres de qualité que vous attendez.”
Ils m’envoient les autocollants de signatures ! Enfin ! (C’est ce que je vais signer et qu’ils placeront à l’intérieur des Editions Limitées.) Je les reçois demain et j’ai hâte de pouvoir vous les montrer.
Je les secoue aussi pour qu’ils m’envoient un devis de livraison. Tout ceci est encore affreusement lent et je m’en excuse même si le retard n’est pas de ma faute… Mais ça bouge.

The Books Will Be Late - Timeline To Be Adjusted

It’s been a while. I wish I had book samples or something super cool to update you with but, as I’ve learned, the printing company I’m working with, KrakenPrint, has been struggling with internal issues this past end of the year.
Due to these issues, it took them a month and a half just to finalize my quote and to send me my invoice - something that I estimated would take a week or two at the most…
Right now we are waiting for the stocks to be ordered and the plates to be made and for the magic to happen. They will make this beautiful book however because of its complexity, production will not start until February and then they will be struggling with the Chinese New Year and the holiday jams that will occur along with it.
We are looking at a new delivery timeline of April or later at this point and I’m sorry. I wish I had better news to bring.
In the meantime if that can cheer you up : Volume II is drawn 52 pages in already and I’ve been getting a ton of ideas written down on the script. All the Immortal Cameos are plugged into it, ready to be called into action once I get to draw the parts and that’s fun.
Two of the three Private Commissions are started and it’s looking good. Some of the process shots are even visible to all on my Patreon.

Ça fait un petit temps. Je préférerais avoir des photos du bouquin ou quelque chose de super cool à montrer mais, comme je l’ai appris, la compagnie d’impression avec qui je travaille, KrakenPrint, a souffert de soucis internes ces derniers mois.
À cause de ces problèmes, il leur avait fallu un mois et demi pour finaliser et m’envoyer ma facture, ce qui selon mes estimations auraient dû prendre une semaine ou deux tout au plus.
À présent nous attendons que les différents stocks de papier arrivent de plusieurs usines différentes, que tout se mette en place et que la magie se fasse. Ils vont le faire ce beau bouquin mais à cause de la complexité du projet, la production ne sera pas être lancée avant Février. Ensuite et malheureusement, ils auront affaire au Nouvel An Chinois et aux embouteillages de vacances qui auront lieu en conséquent.
(Note à moi-même : Faire un Kickstarter en début d’année et pas après.)
En sommes nous ne verrons pas ces bouquins avant le mois d’Avril ou plus tard. J’en suis désolée et il n'y a malheureusement rien à faire pour y remédier.
En attendant et si ça peut vous remonter le moral, le Tome II a 52 pages de dessinées et j’ai tout plein d’idées pour le script. Toutes les Caméo Immortelles sont repérées dans le script et prêtes à être mises en action lorsque j’arriverai au moment de dessiner ces pages et c’est fun!
Deux des trois commandes privées ont été commencées et ça donne bien. Certaines étapes sont visibles à tous sur mon Patreon.
Le site d’Angels Power a reçu quelques améliorations : Le monde et les descriptions de personnages ont été mises à jour et étoffées. Il y a maintenant une quantité de choses à lire et apprendre sur le contexte de l’histoire.

Cards getting charged for Add-Ons [I'm late! Apologies]

Even though I thought I had charged for Add-Ons on the weekend of the 26th in November, it turns out I hadn't. So for Add-Ons, cards are being charged right now.
My sincere apologies for that and for the lack of a heads-up. It's my bad, I should have thought of that.

Je pensais avoir collecté les sommes des Add-Ons sur vos cartes le weekend du 26 Novembre mais en fait non, ce n'était pas fait. Les cartes sont donc chargées maintenant.
Mes sincères excuses pour le retard et pour ne pas vous avoir prévenu à l'avance. C'est une grosse erreur de ma part, j'aurais dû y penser. Mes excuses.

A quick update to let you know that the files were just approved for printing and are moving along. The final page count is... 320!
